Default did anyone try aplying fast bright to white shirts AFTER they've been printed?

We're out of MaxWhite and have a few white shirts to print and I was wondering if anyone tried using the "FastBright" pretreatment on the white shirts that was applied AFTER the CMYK has already been printed. I would imagine it could act as a sealant for the pigments that have already reacted with the shirt fibers.
Anyway, going to try it, wash test and see... comments/thoughts?

I know from dyeing with plants that mordants (the fixative or "pretreat") is applied to the fabric beforehand or during the actually dyeing. So I would guess that 1. the print would bleed if it was applied before curing and 2. after curing I'm not sure it would help. I thought light pretreats worked by improving the uptake of the dye during printing and not so much as a sealant?

Let us know your results.

well after a wash test it hasn't deteriorated the print so at least it doesn't seem to hurt

did you apply after curing and then dry it in the press?

The idea of the pre-treatments is to keep the ink "up" in the garment. Applying afterwards would not effect that.
Also, remember that the inks we use for direct to garment are pigment based not dye based.
