Default Re: Starting Up

Using DTG, you'll need the Direct to Garment printer itself and probably a heat press to cure the ink on the shirt.

Of course you'll need blank t-shirts as well, but I think the above is a good starting point. Hopefully some members with more DTG experience will be able to offer more tips

I would say to be sure to visit a tradeshow or showroom to see the Direct to Garment printer in action and see samples, ask questions, etc before you make a purchase.

Dont use DTG. I have one of this machine. This machine makes allmost all the troubles you can ever imagine. You will hear blame goes to du pont, ink manufacturer, Software, or your computer not running well. Not that the machine is properly tested or poor design.
The main reason for purchasing a DTG is to print on Black garments. Again Manufacturer will reccomend you not to print bigger print as whit inks are expensive and use transfers insted of.

If you are going to start a business, Try with transfers first ( Not Inkjet transfers) There are fabric transfers you can use in some Color photocopiers and xerox docutech. Many t-shirt printers use this method. Problem is you can print only square print on black t shirts. If the print is circular shape cut nad mark the unprinted area usin a black marker pen. I do not like reccommend one particular supplier, but to collect information visit "Magic touch" A german company web site.
To print on black first print on the transfer then transfer it to the opeque paper then apply to the black garments.
