Default Looking to start at home business

Hello,
Looking for some info from the great internet cloud...we are interested in buying an DTG printer. My head is spinning, would like to have a few suggestion as what may be a good quality printer without busting the bank. Printing to dark garments a must. Any suggestions please...

Thanks
Greg

I'm sure Harry & Don will jump in here soon with specific recommendations but we just went down this road with the same head spinning LOL!, your going to want a proven machine with warranty & tech support which is going to put you in the $9k plus range, anything less than that or a used machine (unless you can see it print a shirt before you buy) is going to be a big headache IMHO. There are advantages and disadvantages to every machine, and a lot to learn with white ink & pretreatment and then there's the daily/weekly maintenance....

Yes, we've done a research, other then seeing all the printers working with sample, its hard to choose. We realize that we are in for at least ten grand for a good printer. Just wanted to get sense of what other people are using, and maybe what to avoid.

I don't have any experience in DTG, I bought hundreds of DTG shirts tho!
a friend of mine has a shop down the street He has the Tjet and the gt541 I just asked him which one he likes the best he said the GT541 cost less to operate, faster, cleaner, cheaper and it seems not to have that may problems like nossels clogging
Hope that helps some!

BTW Welcome to the forum.....

We bought a refurb T-jet2 not for any particular reason, for us it really came down to 2 machines the DTG HM-1 or the T-Jet, as far as print quality between DTG printers I don't think there is a lot of difference in the Epson based machines although I'm sure someone will disagree with that statement, it really again IMHO comes down to service/support/warranty/ and ability to get parts after the warranty has expired, all Epson based white ink DTG printers are going to cause issues at one time or another it's just the nature of the beast...sorry I can't recommend a specific printer for you there are people using both of the printers I mentioned everyday without issues and others that have nothing but problems...you just have to roll the dice! LOL!

Its my understanding that we cannot print to dark or black with the Gt-541
