Default Heat Press, Cutter, CIS, Transfer Paper Suppliers

Hi,
I'm new here and I'm looking to buy our equipment for our new t-shirt biz. I've been searching around but can't find any equipment supplier located in Calgary or other cities nearby. Does anyone know of any supplier of heat press, cutter, CIS and transfer paper within the area? Since we are just starting, I am looking to buy the less expensive equipment in the market.

If there is none, I guess my option is getting a supplier who ships to Calgary. I am leaning towards the suppliers in Toronto, either AIP, All Image Printing or the ASC brand.

For the heat press, could you compare which one is better AIP or ASC?

For the cutter, I think both of them, the AIP and ASC brands do not have the optical eye capability. Since I will be printing to an inkjet transfer paper, how can I use the cutter? Can you explain more on how the registry marks work on cutters without optical eye?

And for Heat transfer paper, what brands are good for my Epson Stylus 1400 inkjet, both for dark and light shirts?

Do you know of any supplier of the CIS for the Epson Stylus 1400?

Thanks for your help in advance

Have you picked up anything yet?

If not let me know, I may be able to steer you in the right direction.

We just started a DTG operation here in Edmonton, so we should be able to help you out finding suppliers.

Yes, I got the heat press from AIP in Toronto. I got the Stika SV-15 cutter and was supposed to be delivered yesterday but was missed by UPS in their facility. Today, the snow storm is really bad and they won't deliver again. So maybe, I'll get the cutter and some more stuff on Monday. I really hate UPS, this is the 2nd delivery they messed up. I arranged the heat press to be picked and when I went to the UPS facility, the heat press was loaded in the truck in the morning. UPS really sucks!

Hey xtal,
Welcome and good luck. I have used Flex Heat Transfer Vinyl for my cut heat transfer vinyl and I also bought a cutter from them. They have free shipping and the vinyl is good.

I also use Flex Heat Transfer, I have used Stahls and Imprintables in the USA, Stahls is very expensive and the shipments from the USA have brokerage and Duty added in ( the vinyl is made in Italy) Anyways Flex works well and is a great price. Tell them Gord From Tattered Rags sent you, He's a great guy to work with. He is at FLEXHEATTRANSFERVINYL.CA
