Re: T.shirts for a soccer leage in bc A photo image aka raster defines a line as a series of squares, each assigned a colour. If you scale the image, you still have the same number of squares, so it pixelates.
A vector image defines a line by specifying two points and defining a stroke width for a line between them, if you scale that it is perfect at all scaling factors.
If vectors are set up as spot colours then they are easy to separate into blocks, raster images tend to separate to CMYK. These may need to be vectorised before printing and the printer may charge for his time.
This applies to screenprinted spot colours. In printing the designs there is no difference whatsoever. |
