hi Im just starting out and was wondering if anyone new where to get some nice quality blank tees in the Toronto area?
Ive seen some posts that have mentioned some large suppliers in T.O which you have to register on there site to order. Does anyone know of any wholesale companies where you can walk in and look at there selection?
Also Im just starting, and was wondering how much should I be paying for blanks?
I originally thought that I could find some quality blanks for less then $4 but after looking around I've noticed that nicer fitted type tees are more around $10-$16. Does anyone have some advice for a newbie regarding purchasing shirts? Im looking at doing small runs of around 10-15 shirts at a time.
sanmar has a display room where you can take a look at alot of what they have to offer and i believe they have some more fitting type t's for under $10. for basic t's your looking anywhere between $2-$4 a piece.
one of their sales people can give you all the info about registering and getting catalogues, pricelists, etc.
Hi, I am in a similar boat, but I am located in Vancouver. Does anyone have any information about registering with Sanmar? I looked at their application, and they wanted some pretty specific information such as pst#, references, vendor #, etc. Is there any way to purchase from them without this?
I am new to screen printing as well. We just got wholesale accounts with Sanmar in Missisauga. We're also set up with an organic cotton, free-trade supplier called pureblanks. (but price is a bit steep $6-7 per shirt). There is also Alstyle - they also require the same information to setup an account.
As for setting up wholesale accounts: It is a lot easier than it sounds. if you've registered a business, ($60 in Ontario), PST/vendor/GST and all those numbers are free. You simply need to call and they set everything up for you. I can get you the specific phone numbers to call if youd like. It's very quick and painless
I think the purpose of requiring these numbers is just for them to make sure people aren't walking in off the streets and getting cheap shirts. This would put screen printers out of business. Nobody would need us anymore
I'm new and in the same boat - but learning all the time! Let me know if I can help.
A bit late, but I'd second Alstyle. They have a huge warehouse near Hwy 10 and Derry in Mississauga, very close to the 401. You do need an account, but that's no problem to set up. I don't think you need to have your business registered in order to do so.
You could consider getting an account with American Apparel even, though I don't know how that works. Getting shirts for under $10 shouldn't be any problem though. Hardboiled, Inc in Toronto will supply AA shirts with a print for under $10 a piece.

Can also check out cottonbest.ca. They have a warehouse in scarborough and a storefront down in Kensington Market. Ask for their soft light tees, good price for lightweight shirts. I use them for some of my customers.
Personally I think Cottons Best is best way to go. People really tend to love the quality of their heavy tees over the likes of Gildan, AAA, and Fruit of the Loom.
As for blank shirts dot ca, I don t find their prices to be any different than any of my other suppliers for the bigger name stuff except I can t pick up from blanksshirts. The other suppliers are near by and I can pick up
