Does anybody know how to get URLs for the actual image in an image basket??
I'm trying to use a jpg or gif in customizing some parts of my cp store. But it doesn't seem like there's any easy way to get the URL of an acutal image in the media basket.
Seems a bit strange that one can customize a store, but then have to store content images (e.g. a background, or header image) on another site.
I would't have a clue about cafepress's software. I'm only helping because I feel sorry for anyone that would let a company charge them so much for an inferior product and then make them market it as well.
depending on your browser there are several ways to get the url. the easiest would be to simply right click (Windos) Control click ( Mac) the image and say load in new window. then read the url
Thanks for the suggestion but that really wouldn't work as it'll give you the URL of the thumb nail, not the original image.
Ok I edited my message since I re read what you wrote....sorry.
If you're trying to add an image as your background or header, then yes your image has to be stored elsewhere. Usually someone will make a custom image as their header or backgroun anyway- not use an image you have uploaded for products.
Thanks. You confirmed pretty much what I've seen. Still seems a bit odd to me that they allow you to customize a "premium store" but don't provide a way to store "content" on their site.
The templates are a bit strange too -- you can say change background colors, but some of the graphics will not necessarily work well with it.
I suppose it goes with the territory-- you deal with what you've got via CP.
I was hoping to avoid my own hosting for a bit while I get designs/branding (and other setup done). But I'll have to host elsewhere for the time being. I just stuck one image (the header) on an existing photobucket account for now. That'll do until I start getting some real traffic (a good problem to have... 8-) )
