I was wondering how many people had a "real" home page, on their own website, with their own domain name, that then LINKS to Cafe Press, as opposed to just getting a Cafe Press store and promoting that.
I have seen plenty of cool websites, and when I clicked to buy an item, I was brought right to their Cafe Press shopping cart. That seems like an intelligent way to do things.
It's a good way to build branding for your own site. I think it's a very smart way to market a store powered by CafePress.
There's a great script called CPShop that makes it pretty easy to host your cafepress store and products on your own site with your own site's look and feel.
I myself have a wordpress running. Since a couple of weeks I use the wishads cafepress store plugin from Wishads.com . It's still very new and there are one or two things still need to be worked out, but all together a great plugin to get your cafepress products in your wordpress.
I see I am going to be great at posting in old threads, lol. Anyway, I have just a plain one page site with links to new shirts and all the shirt sections, its nice to have. I would like to make a better website, but with a full time job and working on the CP store my learning of html and css is slow going at best.
I have what I need from marty.net, I would like to put it in place when I find the time to do so as it would look sooooo much better than the site I have up now. I would at least try to throw something up that looks decent that you can promote your site with. Its alot easier to tell someone a web address that is not a mile long either.
Plus it also helps a ton with self promotion like business cards, flyers and whatnot.
