Default Cafepress and photoshop

Hello all, Thanks for all the invaluable information about CP. As a newbie to CP I have a question I havn't found the answer to yet

I have some designs I had my graphic designer do on photoshop that I can upload now, however, I am not a graphic designer, nor do I own photoshop. If I want to make a new design for a new shirt for my CP store do I need to design it my self in photoshop and upload it to CP, or do they have a section that allows you to design/make your own designs in CP? In other words do they have a program in CP that acts like photoshop to help you design new stuff???

Thanks in advance

You have to have some software that creates the image needed. There are some cheap or even free softwares out there, that as long as they export an accepted file format, they'll work - CafePress.com : Help Desk : Index

Somewhere in my travels I came across a company that was developing a online app that you could create your artwork in and then submit it to CP, but I can't remember where that was.

That might have been it. I think that when I first saw it, it was being developed as a plug-in for a persons site, so they could have their customers design the shirt and the nsend it to CP.

i think there is a free program called GIMP which is free and has the same features as Photoshop. I believe it allows you to save in the correct fromat PNG for dark apparel as well.

GIMP offers photo retouching, image composition, and image authoring and is favorably compared by users to Adobe's Photoshop and Illustrator applications. I use Photoshop myself but I have played around with GIMP before. There is a learning curve to using any of these graphic design programs. You can dowload it free from Open Source.
