Default Awful Results, is anyone making any money out there?

I've been on cafepress now for about 6 months and have not sold one shirt. I have many shirts up and have descriptive tags for all of them. I have subscribed to the advanced service and run my site online. Is there something wrong with my site design that turns people off or am I in too big of a market (offensive shirts) to be competitive? I'm just throwing my $7 a month away at this point because of how few shirts I'm selling. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Well, when I tried to visit it, it crashed my browser before all of the pictures loaded. Something definitely going on there. Either stick to CP or hire a competent web designer to make a decent site for you.

In my opinion, yes. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of sites selling offensive shirts, with very similar themes to the ones I saw on your site. If you really want to be successful in that particular market, you really need to specialize - find a way to be offensive that nobody has done so far, perhaps. The other thing you need to do is ADVERTISE - constantly, and in as many places and ways as you can possibly think of.

Wow. Have you ever thought of how much money some people sink into starting their own business? It's not unusual to spend thousands before you see a real return on your investment.

By comparison, $7 a month is a ridiculously small amount of money. If anything, I'd spend more money - for a better website and some serious advertising. You might actually get somewhere.

1) You need to change your designs a bit. They are witty, but most of their graphical appearance is what most people can churn out in less than 3 mins with MS Paint.

2) Having the URL together with the t-shirt is a no-no (unless you're Nike).

3) Website designs looks like those Geocities / Tripod / Angelfire "HTML home page" that were common in the 1996 - 1998 era.

4) You need to visit other t-shirt sites to get a good feel on the ground. Like this Cafepress site OneHorseShy | Funny t-shirts, cool t-shirts & gifts. They make a good case study.

5) Sorry for being blunt, but you need real feedback!

Add my browser as another victim. Best of luck! Hope you find a solution soon - the above posts sound like very good advice.

your pictures are HUGE, 1860kb for one, its black and white, it should be about 4kb with a GIF.

I can tell you i wouldnt pay for a tshirt which says "fancyshurts.com" within the graphics, that type of thing i would expect from a shirt i'm given for free.

I also think your shirts are too expensive for what they are, im not sure on the pricing options you have because i dont use cafe press but $24 for a line of text on a shirt... im not sure who your target market is but i wouldnt pay that
