Question about cafepress... do they allow people who can do fulfillment themselves to create a store on cafepress or do you have to use their fulfillment services?

You design and use their service Jay. You receive a royalty/commission on the designs sold, they handle billing shipping and so on. You hold the copyright on the designs so you can produce them outside of cafepress as well.

When is my work protected?
Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device.

DickTees: You've already got your own site running well enough, so there should be no reason to go with the reduced profits and lower quality cafepress will give you.
