Value your gross annual earnings, value your equipment/supplies, and value your stock. I think the going rate is $1 or so for your gross then add everything else in it.

what if i dont have any earnings at this point (the business is frozen, no one to run it) is there any potential earnings value or value in brand, intellectual property, designs, etc? value of stock/merchandise is it the retail value or its cost?
Re: Advice on selling the business. Designs, equipment, stock
Try to sell off your designs either as a collection or individually. Sell any equip as the same way. As far as merchandise there is a good chance you will have to settle for less then cost. It doesn't sound like you can sell "the business".
Re: Advice on selling the business. Designs, equipment, stock
I run a small business and over the past few years I have purchased several small companies. Without a customer base and lack of annual revenue all you have to sell is the company assets.
The biggest mistake made when selling off assets is overpricing. What you paid for the equipment has little to do with how much you can expect to get for it. Supply and demand will dictate the price. In today’s economy the number of buyers has declined. This decline has created excess supply.
Expect to recover less than half of what you paid for the equipment and depending on age and condition it could be much lower.
Purchasing used equipment is a greater risk for the buyer so you need to price the equipment low enough to make the risk worth the purchase.
It is hard to place a value on intellectual property. Unless you have something unique it will be cheaper for someone to just reproduce something similar to what you are selling.
Do some research on the equipment you are selling. Find out what the average selling price has been for the equipment. Time is a big factor if you need to make a fast sell then you will need to lower the price accordingly. If you can afford to wait then ask for a higher price and wait it out.

Often times people sell equipment, materials, and excess merchandise in the classifieds section of this site, but there are other options such as eBay. The choice is up to you because it is your business that you are closing the doors on. Some times it may even cost money to close a business too.
