Hi guys-
I'm pretty new to this forum, and I normally know that ppl don't appreciate being asked repetitve questions, so I apologize in advance if my question is common. (I have used the search function btw)

I've been very interested in launching my clothing line but

My question is this:

If I trademark or copyright my designs as an individual, can I still start a DBA and make money off it legally?

Or- Should I create a DBA (sole proprietership), THEN copyright and trademark my material under the business ID?

It is my understanding that a trademark or copyright can be transferred and/or licensed, so it doesn’t matter who obtains the trademark or copyright. A d/b/a is just an alter ego of its principal - individual, corporation, etc. Please consult an attorney versed in these matters for definitive information.
