I'm starting a tee line and am curious to know about name registration and about design copyrights.

Does name have to be registered?

Do I have to copyright all designs?

Really depends on what you are trying to do, theres a lot of different ways you can legally use others designs, and lots of ways to protect your own. Copyright and trademark rights will be expensive, but most licensing of designs isnt extremly expensive. I guess post a lil more info on what you are trying to do. Also if you're only doing a smaller startup I wouldnt even worry about anything untill you start making money and growing your business.

As a trademark? No. For a business license or operating name? It will depend on where you're operating from (and therefore local laws), but probably.

They're definitely expensive to actually enforce, but if you just want to register your work for copyright protection, then it's $35 for however many designs you have at the time.

What do you mean licensing of designs.

What I want to do is print up dome saying and ideas I have on shirts. I have a name of what I want me tees to be under and want to run with the ideas.
