Default Qeustion about being insured in parents house ?

Hi all,

I am running my small screen printing business out of my parents house and am looking to obtain a vendor's permit, to do so I need to be insured. Does anyone know if my business can be insured without affecting my parents insurance policy? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,

Aaron

Your parents should advise their insurance carrier of your home business to make certain it does not affect their coverage in case of a claim.

Then your purchase of vendor insurance will not affect their coverage at all.

If you need property and liability on your shop, How to buy RLI Home Business Insurance is a good source.

If you need vendor insurance for selling away from your shop, Insurevents.com Home Page is a good source.

That's some good info Splathead. I am looking a getting new business insurance as the company I am currently with is bashing me over the head. I got to find someone better. Right now I am paying $1900 a year and that only covers the building not the contents inside. I had to buy separate insurance to cover my merchandise.

Katrina,

If you are in a commercial building, I have also seen this firm McKay Insurance Agency, Inc. - Small Business Insurance exhibit at some of our trade shows.
