I used Ultimate Business Planner 4.0, which was $49 when I bought it but is now $99, and it's a great program. It took me a lot of time (and thinking) to complete, but it really made me think about all the angles for starting and growing my business. For that reason, I would highly recommend it.
Looking back at it, the main thing I got out of using it was the way it made me think about my business. Until this day, I haven't used the business plan -- but I use the concepts and goals that were developed in writing the plan everyday.
With that said, maybe a good idea would just be to use the 'University of Google' (free) to browse existing business plans of businesses similar to yours, as well as free templates (there are tons of them out there) just to get you mind on the right track and thinking about the things you need to keep in mind and consider for your business. ... Just my five cents.
