This section of the forum is for discussing the business and finance issues of the t-shirt industry. Which business structure to use (sole proprietor, LLC, S Corp, etc), how to handle billing, where to register your business and get the proper licensing, etc.
I need a product tracking software for my Tee business, I currently am using MS Excel on my mac and I wanted to see if there was an alternative that was free or i could purchase.
I went and looked at this discussion already and it didn't help me.
Nice thing about the mac is you can run both appace and MySQL Just like a Unix web server, then there are a whole host of Open source freeware applications.
the sql will do what you want. load it all easy with mamp here then run freeware like OS commerce that has UPS and other tracking built in. Even Quick books and Invoiceing. it can track when inventory is low and all that.
Product tracking for online sales?? or for profit loss?? or just inventory?
If its all or just one of those things, Quickbooks Pro can do all of that for you.. premier is even better for inventory tracking though. Its easy to use, has a good support community, and does MORE than just tracking.. its an entire book keeping system that LOTS of companies use
If you have one of the new generation Macs with Intel you can run virtual software and then run any of the windows applications out there. Take a look at these links...
If you use a program like parallels, make SURE that you have a MINIMUM 4GB of RAM, better to have 6 though.. I have a macbook with parallels, but i had to add ram because even though it SAYS it can run with 2GB, quickbooks slowed to a crawl.
but if you HAVE a PC that works well, then you are best of just installing it on that and using your mac for graphics only
