Default Trademark Question

Hello Guys,

Newbie to the forum, but have a question I hope you guys can shed some light on. I have a logo and some words trademarked and ready to go. The only thing I was wondering was down the line if the logo/words start to fade on sales, can I add such things as Splash Paint, Zig Zag lines, other art (created by me) with the logo/words without trademarking the new "background" drawings.

Say a company like FOX RACING.. They have FOX RACING trademarked, but then they create designs around that..Do they have to trademark each shirt because of those background designs?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Default Re: Trademark Question

walshy00,

i went through the same thing.
i paid for a lawyer so here is free advice.

he told me just to trademark my words.
the word marks.

i have a distinct flash symbol but the words are the most important part right now.

i am from canada so i have to trademark the words and then separately the symbol.
talk about double dipping by the government and lawyers.

then i have to register in the US after my canadian ones go through.

just trademark your words at the moment and let your symbol evolve to its final design and then trademark the symbol.

just my advice, I AM NOT A LAWYER.

take it easy,
andy
