Hi, I'd like to ask about the advantage and/or disadvantage of having a EIN#.

As far as I've learned from this website & IRS, I know I don't have to have one unless I have employees.

But it seems good to have one?! since there is no fee and some companies might take my business more seriously when I deal with them??
Also if I have one, I don't have to give my SSN whenever EIN# is requested??

I am really new to this, so I am a bit nervous but also excited.
Any information is greatly appreciated

This is the #1 reason why most tax and legal professionals will have sole proprietorships and DBAs get an EIN #. My suggestion... DO IT!
