Default Do you need to Trademark your Web Address?

When a sole proprietor picks a website address when the first start out, do they need to trademark it?

Im still learning the trademark ropes, but if I had to guess I would say no because no two people can register the same domain. Not sure if I did it the right way, but I registered my DBA and got my EIN number for the business name that I wanted, then I purchased the domain. I am in the process of trademarking my name and logo.

While it's true no one can copy a domain address exactly ex: New Threats - Home, there are other domains such as .net, .biz, .info etc, so someone could copy your unique name and use a different extension. If you really want to "lock up" your domain, then register all the possible extensions under your ownership.
