This section of the forum is for discussing the business and finance issues of the t-shirt industry. Which business structure to use (sole proprietor, LLC, S Corp, etc), how to handle billing, where to register your business and get the proper licensing, etc.

Shawrue, can you provide more information? What is your basic plan for business? What type of products do you plan on selling? What is your start up capital? Etc.
At the moment thats why im at this forum me and my partners dont know how to go about with a plan so we are here to find out info so we can make one that we can do..The product at the moment we are planning to go into is wemons T-shirts and dresses and if things go right a mens line.. right now sincewe just started saveing we've saved 1,000 dollars and saving more..We found a silkscreeening place we plan to go with will provide the silkscreening with 2colors on brand name shirts for 8dollors is that good or is there better?
If you post a thread in the screen print section, asking the screen printers if that is a good deal, they'll let you know. If the price is not the best, I'm sure you'll get advice on how to get the price lower.
Also, you are able to post for referals and recommendations, and folks here can give you prices as well. It's all up to you if you only want to double check your price, or get help negotiating the price, or actually see if someone here can give you quality printing at a great price. The great part is you decided which print method to use.
I would think you will now need to focus on finding your customers, figuring out what your retail price is, if you'll try to sell wholesale or retail, or both.
All the marketing stuff. You'll have to figure out who you are selling to and how much, so you know what kind of orders you'll be placing with the printer, and that you'll be able to unload the inventory once you get it. Best regards.

Reason: shorten and re-arrange.
Having a design is great...
Being able to mfg (or job it out) is great....
Learning how to sell and find customers is what will make it all work. If you can sell, then mfging & designing problems will all work themselves out... they are only logistical problems.
I see way to many folks on this forum worried about how theire design looks, or how am I going to print this... not enough folks asking "who's going to buy this" and "how do I reach them"!
Answer those two questions FIRST, and worry about the rest later.
Hello amigo.Sou new here. Very true! That's usually the most important thing about shirts... MARKETING! How will you get someone to buy your shirt over the next guy's? Find your target market, find the right people to wear your item in that market and "BAM" you have a launch!
The shortcut is below, but I'm also including a link to the front page, the home page. http://www.t-shirtforums.com/
From the top, just scroll down the screen slowly until you see the screen print section. It's under the blue header called "T-shirt industry information". It's the 4th section down, and Screen Print is the first section.
Try to look over that home page, it will help you get anywhere in the forum from that page. I know it's confusing, I felt the same until I got used to all the names and sections.
Another way I get around the forum is to use the links at the top of this page, the blue links that are right under the "search box". Clicking on the first one, T-Shirt Forums, takes you to the homepage. Hope that helps.
