Short phrases are difficult to copyright (if you read up on it, look for the information explaining that one has to prove originality, and it has to show some sort unique thought by the author - it will be with information explaining how longer phases are easier to copyright for that reason...
Trademarks are for 'service' marks, like the Nike swish, but words can be trademarked if they are shown to 'belong' to the brand, such as "just do it" by Nike... it's what the public thinks of when they hear it... or "have it your way"...
started off being $1500 for lawyer then in DC they couldnt make up their mind about what i could do or not in what i was trademarking[ grey area] the words you use can make it or it will waste your time. but they have a system on how they do things, im not shure about art as a coppywright{C} should be used if you designed the art work , people need to read the laws before spending money on artwork or a slogan just because it looks great or sounds great, like the board says, DO A SEARCH FIRST,go to the trademark web site and read. like i said, i used a [C] then {TM] after applying for it, got the trademark after $4000 spent, now im playing around with screen printing [newbe]
