This section of the forum is for discussing the business and finance issues of the t-shirt industry. Which business structure to use (sole proprietor, LLC, S Corp, etc), how to handle billing, where to register your business and get the proper licensing, etc.
I recently found a really killer hookup for super cheap shirts, but they are from a store they have there own logo on them, but they are silkscreened on the inside on them. Am i able to put my own logo on the front of them and sell them? Or do i have to cover it up? Or am i just looking at a giant lawsuit? haha please someone help me out. And this is in Canada if that helps...or makes a difference.
Once you buy a shirt, you are free to do with it what you want. It's YOUR shirt. You can put your logo on it, cover up their logo, etc. Canada is a free country too, right?
So even if you went and bought a bunch of Gap tshirts that were blank and then put your own logo on the front and sold them in stores.. thats fine?
Yes, if you can pull that off. Just not sure why you would keep a gap label in the shirt if you are reselling. Take it out and put in your own. If I see someone wearing your shirt and I ask the person where it's from so I can go get one, what are they going to tell me? Uh, it's a gap shirt.
