Should you add the .com to the official business name?

Default Should you add the .com to the official business name?

I noticed that a couple companies have .com added to their name.

For example, at the bottle of Zazzle's webpage, it says Zazzle.com Inc.

So if I was going to form a c-corp or a LLC, Should my name be:

Dog Inc.?

or

Dog.com Inc.?

(not real names - for example only)

It depends on what you want to mainly be known as and what your primary business focus is. If you are strictly an internet based company, then yes, add .com. Otherwise, no.

I second that. Even if your business starts out internet based, but you plan on branching out, I would drop the ".com"

I aggree with splathead. the .com basicly tells people your internet only. So there is an upside to adding it if your an internet based company. If you plan on having a brick and morter based company, .com is probably not the best thing to add because it will just confuse people.
