Printing on 100% Poly MMA shorts
Has anyone had success printing on mma/board shorts? I have a customer that wants his sponsors printed onto his 100% polyester shorts for an mma fight coming up. The finished product should look comparable to the shorts worn by fighters in the UFC. I would love to know what processes that you all have tried unsuccessfully and successfully completed so I can make these to the satisfaction of my customer. Also I own a Brother GT-541 and heat press with teflon protector on it. Please help... Thanks in advance!

Re: Printing on 100% Poly MMA shorts You could order screen printed transfers specifically for Polyester.

Re: Printing on 100% Poly MMA shorts What about vinyl heat transfers? Would this work or would the heat ruin the shorts?

Re: Printing on 100% Poly MMA shorts Definitely test a pair with the heat prior to proceeding. Get some extra transfers and an extra pair of shorts and perfect it before doing the final one.
At Sinister Brand, we would do a one hit of plastisol, but it was hard to get in on the seam of the butt (If there is one). The downside is that all logos are one color. The poly survived the dryer ok.
It'd different than manufacturing them, because you can screen print the fabric panels and then sew!!

Re: Printing on 100% Poly MMA shorts I just finished 50 100% white poly soccer jerseys for an ultimate frisbee team. I bought an extra and tested it like crazy. I found that I had to lower the ink level down to a 4 so that it wouldn't bleed. Colors are definatley more muted but they were doing a retro black and white design so it turned out great. I've washed my sample about a dozen times and it hasn't been a problem.
