Could someone that has bought the new inksets clarify something, I have gathered from comments in the forum that the new ink cartridge does not include a cleaning kit or wiper cleaner, is that correct or I missinterpreted the comments? If so, where are the savings in buying the big black ink cartridge? - 50$ less, + 35$ for the cleaning kit (although it has more swabs), + 45 $ for the wiper cleaner.
?¿?¿ dont't get it.
thank's
Yup, funny little scheme huh? I asked Rep. same question, swaps can be bought bulk dirt cheap, cleaning fluid can be used with one they provide 3 cleaning applications and wiper thing, come on, you can make one, take out foam slabs they got and replace them duh.
Other than that, what I was told is that, it may be a while till they provide it on big ones, but I have heard people make due for a while without replaces that wiper.
I get my cart. for 185 so I am happy enough so far, can give a care less about saving another 10 dollars and having to wait for cart. to take two additional days to be delivered direct from Brother when i can get it next day

technically there are 220 cc in the small cartridge, but I get your point. well I guess that's it, enough added value to acquiring original, or no more freebies with the ink, a shame because that just was such a nice gesture on their part, since you did not have to worry on acquiring parts that it asks you to exchange on ink replacement.
why waste 30cc?? squeeze excess ink and tape it down, what I always do and works just fine.
I personally gonna wait a month or two before switching to 500cc, I just got this feeling something may go wrong, when you put something in a machine, which wasnt designed for it.
Maybe chance of pressure fluctuation, air getting in, ect.
Open up the cart. by slitting side of label and gently open casing, than use a credit card/squegee to push all that yummi excess ink forward.
Than roll up excess bladder like tooth paste and tape it down, preventing it from retracting
I cut the thin plastic towards end of cart. because makes it tough to close cart. again with it not snipped
Steps like this are essential for getting the most out of your Brother ink carts. MANY Brother owners will admit that they take steps to squeeze the last few drops of ink out of the carts (which is actually far more than a "few drops")... However, it is important to also note that some Brother reps will try to blame these actions when your print head fails. Common sense would tell us that the method described above should have no adverse effects on the print heads, but be prepared to hear it anyways....
We have been using the squeezing out the ink method since we go the machine 3 years ago, but be careful. One time the printer couldn't sense that the yellow ink was all gone and keep printing, that freaked me out a bit. Ink starvation on a 1000.00 print head could potentially be a problem. Has anyone experienced this also?
Yup, it happens when you squeeze ink and have a big bubble of ink which sensor cant tell whether or not empty because of extra air : )
What I typiocally do is, when I estimate it may be almost done, I just toss out cart. I mean, i dont suck every tiny bit, buyt if you got ink starvation, it wont ruin head, had happen to roland, and head was left like that state for 4 days, had tech. come on over and fixed her up.
I think it is a complete meth. that heads are super sensitive, I messed with heads on Roland machine like you wouldnt believe, I was using head to stir my coffee one day because couldnt find a spoon Lol.
And you know what, still worked, even dropped abrasive solvent on chip, had it laying around and mind you this was an Epson head, not typical ofcourse but I would have to say Brothr heads looks bader@ss even though they cost same per head.
Reason head go bad is same reason I have had to return certain merchandise to a shop because it had a defect, not because I did something to it.
Oh and I have had my Brother head slam into shirts, sweatshirts, hoods ect and hmm nothing happen to heads, turned it off, back on and tada, I have had sweeter jams on big printer which made noises to cringe stomach, even broke carbide bit but heads were just dandy
