Default Washing Instructions

I have had my Brother 541 for about a month now and love it. Was wondering what washing instructions everyone gives with the shirts. How much do they fade when properly cured? Also has anybody tried printing on bamboo shirts and what results.

Default Re: Washing Instructions

We've been using ours for two years with no complaints from customers. I've never included washing instructions. In talking to my clothing vendors over the years though many of them suggest washing items inside out and using Cheer. Tide apparently is overly potent, and the inside out thing makes sense when you think about it, less rubbing on your images or embroidery.

I do not have the brother, but with my HM1 I do not give washing instructions, as I think most people will wash shirts their way anyways I have not had any problems though.

As far as Bamboo, they print awesome. I buy mine from spunbamboo.com and they are super soft and comfortable. I know there are a few other vendors as well in threads if you search at the top for Bamboo t-shirts. I also tried continentals bamboo as well, but they are much thinner then the ones from spunbamboo.com. continentals were only I think less then 4 oz, where the spun bamboo ones were 6.1 oz. I guess it would all depend on if you are going for the thinner or thicker shirt as well.

Thanks for the link to spunbamboo.com. I have bought from Continental before and would like a thicker bamboo shirt then they offer. I used to have a T-jet and printed on bamboo with good results. Hopefully the brother's ink works just as well.

We no longer give washing instructions. Because we have poured pure bleach on some of our prints just to see what would happen. The shirts turned yellow, but the ink stayed in the shirts.

As for bamboo, they print beautifully! I love them...the organic cotton print beatifully too.
