Well that is awesome now that someone finally has it. I hope others start getting them as well so we can see the feedback on how they do. The only thing that annoyed me with that article is I think they said Design a shirt's name about a hundred times hehe. It is really exciting to see them finally going out to customers woohoo

I just designed/priced a black shirt with a normal, full-color image on the front (one-side only). It was $28.95... . I'm hoping they haven't added their GT-782 pricing and that was the reason for the high $$.
Buy high sell high is the philosophy behind the gt-782. I always did the buy low and sell high (or as high as the market can absorb...) But maybe it is just because i don't understand....
I spoke with our Brother distributor last week and he had some interesting comments about the 782.
The first one is that it will not fit through a standard door opening. Get out the tape measure!
The dark shirts must be pre-treated of course and Brother does not recommend treating by hand. Instead you 'have' to buy a pre-treat machine for $4000 or $7000. I'm not positive about the pricing but it's in that ballpark.
The pre-treat solution is $500 for 5 gallons.
And he also said that he can't figure out why there are 2 platens as you can only print one shirt at a time.
But he did say that the prints were every bit as good as the 541.
All in all he said he wasn't impressed.

Well, with that kind of attitude I hope he distributes more than just brother.
All he has to do is watch a video or see a demo to see how it does print 2 shirts at once. Wonder what else he said here that is inaccurate.

He doesn't sound like a very smart "distributor" (for not knowing the why on the double platten) While one platen is printing the underlay the other is printing the color layer. Even if you are printing just white ink or just CMYK, at least you'll have the next platen loaded and queued when doing production.
I knew a man that was a Yamaha dealer. He also sold SkiDoo. Both companies made snowmobiles. One day he was pitching a customer on the merits of SkiDoo over Yamaha...he even made some comment about the Yamaha being inferior. He did not know that the other guys browsing his shop was the new Yamaha regional GM. OOPS... cost him is franchise.
