So I know there has been a lot of speculation regarding whether or not the 500cc ink for the 782 is backwards compatible with the 541 - and see that it's now available on direct2shirt.com.
Can anyone verify that they have used the 500cc on their 541 successfully? I'd like to order soon if so, otherwise it'll be sawgrass for me here on out.
Has anyone actually tried them in their gt541?
do they stick out a whole lot from the machine?
And does anyone know when will they be available? Jul, Oct, Feb?
I have some 440 carts for my Roland solvent printer, but will not be purchasing them again due to how far they stick out of the machine. I saved ~$10 per cart in purchasing them, but am worried about the health of my equipment. I'm normally not the complaining type, but I frequently have to maneuver around my Roland and subconsciously I ignore the ink carts sticking out and have bumped into and almost damaged them multiple times. One time I bumped into it with my body so hard the yellow ink quit registering properly and reported it was almost out, knowing I rarely use yellow in my prints, I reseated the cart and it measured bag 1 as full, bag 2 as 1/3rd. It's been hit with chairs, people, and almost got hit with my engraver when I was hauling it through, they're sturdy, but they're always in the way.
Anyways, aesthetically I don't care bout how big the carts, and the way my Brother printer is positioned, it will not make a difference as what's next to the ink is a wall, but it's something to keep in mind if you have to walk around your equipment!
