Long story short, my husband and I are starting up with a GT-541...
While I understand the basics, via the manual, I need help with some specifics!

One question I have - any way to get the install software online, or is that something I'm going to have to find or get from the tech place?

Another - what type of heat press would you recommend for this type of printer? I don't want to cheap out but I don't want to overbuy either!

Lastly - favorite supplier for ink? Anyone that I really shouldn't buy from?

Thanks for anyone who helps me out with this...it's just the little stuff that gets me all confused!

1. If you contact Brother, they probably have some way to get the drivers online. My system came with cds, and a Brother rep came down from Salt Lake to install everything and show us how to use the printer.

2. We use two 15x15 Mighty Press in our shop (one's right next to our printer). They're very robust and built to last and most of our designs don't exceed that press size. I've heard good things about Sunie and they're decently priced.

3. I usually get my Brother ink from Direct2Shirt.com, $200 a cart seems to be the going price for OEM. I haven't gambled with any non-OEM inks. I believe Direct2Shirt offers free shipping over a certain amount or when you buy ink, so when we refuel I usually buy something else from them like sandstone coasters, or other things to dabble with.

I've been looking at the Brother website for the last 30 mins and I can't get any info other than a # to call...might have to try that I suppose.

Thanks for the link to direct2shirt...they seem really reasonable...

and heat presses...I think my problem was mostly looking on ebay, it's so confusing trying to figure out what I"m looking for!
