Cost Per Print as with the GT-541 is going to vary depending on the size of the image, the type of file, the density and the desired look. The GT-782 is the only printer in the industry with a reverse pump for their white heads, ensuring that you do not waste ink during cleaning and flushing cycles. This provides consistent and repeatable consumption. For more specific information please contact your distributor. Pre-Treating the Garments:
This can be done manually; either with the roller and tray provided or with a power sprayer. It can also be done with an automatic pre-treatment machine. The automatic pre-treat machines provide consistent and even coverage of the required 35-38 grams of solution for a 14"x14" area. The treated garment, regardless of how the pre-treatment is applied, must be cured on a heat press at 360-365 degrees F for 35 seconds with heavy (80 pounds) of pressure. This ensures the pre-treatment is cured and the fibers of the garment are matted down to a smooth surface for the white ink.
Yes, but you gotta remember, in a whole, it is cheaper with less work keeping up with machine, and I heard it will use less ink than traditionally used by Dupount.
Also facotr in that ink is sucked back into the machine and not sucked out to be wasted, over time, I speculate there will be greater savings : )
I think they charge its weight in value gold is going for Ha.
Ya price is high but tech. it is cheaper than what we are use to seeing from Brother especially the new, lower ink prices : )
I personally wouldn't get any machine that does white ink, cost to much in a whole and to time consuming, part I love is that, white ink is like a heart transplant, you got a limited time to use it or else your dead man.
Agreed; $600 means that I won't be looking any further into this machine. I have been saying it from the beginning; if they cannot get their ink cost in line, FORGET IT! Bigjack - cleaning and routine maintenance is not the only thing that wastes ink. And just because the Brother might do "fewer" head cleanings, even my 541 needs a purge every 25 shirts to keep the heads clean.
So, on the 782 (thinking about the relatively SMALL tiger image that was being printed at many of the shows); total ink consumption for that image was around 4.something - if it was near 4.5 cc, then the actual cost (of ink that landed on the shirt, nothing else) is around $3. Now, then you need to factor in pretreatment (.50?), regular maintenance cycles (which will add up, doing an auto mini-purge on 2 print heads, every 25 shirts), then overhead. I can outsource to a Kornit owner for just about what the sum total (per shirt) would cost me on the Brother, and I won't have to manually pretreat or print anything, and I won't have "bulletproof" prints.
Sorry, Brother seems to have tried, but seems to have fallen far short of what would be required for a "true" production machine.
I WILL NEVER BUY ANY DTG PRINTER, WHICH COSTS MORE THAN $2.50 TOTAL TO PRINT A SOLID COVERAGE 12 x 12 IMAGE ON LIGHT OR DARK, PERIOD! That includes pretreatment, waste, etc. Until the industry matures into this price range or below, we simply cannot compete (in a meaningful way) with screen printers, and I will continue to outsource to the guys with the reasonably priced ink, so I can completely eliminate production and labor from my life. The ONLY way for me to have any desire to take on the level of production that HIGH VOLUME dark garment printing requires, again, is for the actual hard costs to be SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the current cost to outsource; right now, it simply doesn't make financial sense.
Brother White Ink: $600 per liter
Brother Pretreatment: ???
I didn't search too far for the Anajet information, as they make you submit your personal info just to find a rep in your area. No thanks.... And the one distributor I did find (Best Blanks) doesn't list ink prices on the website (I wouldn't, either!), they just copy and paste exactly what is on the Anajet website. If anybody knows where the Anajet ink prices are listed, or what the pretreatment agent costs (per liter), let me know.
Looks like Brother isn't the HIGHEST priced on the market....... I wonder what the pretreatment numbers are.
Justin close on the price, thanks for the link, I hope all is well?
Now if we can get the white ink below Kornit's price, than we will all be happier
Dan "HAPPY PRINTING"

Yeah, I rounded to the nearest $5 on some of them... I actually spent a lot of time with conversion calculators, since your products are listed in ounces rather than liters... haha. I even did the math and found out that Kornit actually includes 1050 ml in each liter (150ml x 7 bottles), although that may account for volume capacity, as the bottles are not always filled all the way up.
