What is your favorite white 100% t-shirt for garment printing? We purchased our GT-541 in Dec '07 and I want to figure out which white tee is favored by the helpful bunch here. We had been printing on the Gildan 2000, but I think there's better out there.
My concern for price is about a 7 out of 10. My concern for thickness is about 8 out of 10. I want the print to look as good as it can. This isn't as much about the shirt as it is the print...kind of. I also hear that different brands print better? (This is all in reference to DTG printing)
Hype prints better and I heard American eagle do well to
Materials with spandex do great, key is to have a shirt with tightly woven thread letting inks saturate in more even manner...
Def. check out hype shirts for NES clothing, you will love feel of the soft fabric and the fit is great
We have a design with many colors and we decided to print them on the three major shirts..then we threw these shirts into every load of laundry. The whites with whites and colors with the colors of course..
We were then able to pick our favorite and since it was my fiancee' truck club he was able to wear them all the time to test the durabilty and feel.
so basically we choose PNC for price , feel and durability but that is our preference
if you are able to do this I suggest trying it out..
Hey fatkat, what is PNC? When I think of the 3 major shirts I'm thinking Gildan, Jerzees, Hanes. I think I need to explain a little more. I'm just looking for a basic tee. Not a fashion tee. Thanks for the replies. Most of my customers (92%) are going to be more than happy with a basic tee. Some of my younger customers (8%) might want to go for a fashion tee, so I'll look into some of these.
I will do the prints and wash tests eventually. I don't like doing my own laundry.
Ooohhh, port & company. BTW, location also plays a role - about an 8 out of 10. I'm getting difficult aren't I?
Hmm.. Most of clients prefer Gildan over Anvil because they say it washes better..
They hate Hanes because they call it like an underwear shirt
I give them option of either one, I were both samples and I honestly can care less Lol.
But clients do prefer the Gildan over Anvil, as for Jerzee I hate them, yes they are thicker "But" when you was them a few times, fiber stick out and distorts image quickly
Not a fan of the Gildan's, and if you buy the youth sizes they are always bigger than the customer wanted.
I LOVE Anvil "basic tee" 6.1 oz. I print DTG and they seem to soak up the ink the best. Even though everyone offers 6.1oz, these feel much thicker than the gildans.
I agree with last Theedge about Hanes beefy-T also being good, but they cost more than most.
