I am not an owner, but have used and done the GT-782 maintenance. The recommended maintenance consist of the following:
- Daily Maintenance (done before each day you are using the printer) - retrieve the white ink from the ink lines and shake the cartridge, then refill the white ink lines and run a nozzle check.
- Weekly Maintenance (recommended to be done on Monday morning) - retrieve the white ink, run the tube cleaning process, refill the white ink lines and run a nozzle check.
The tube cleaning process is pretty unique in that it has the ability to clean the ink lines to the point that they look brand new. This prevents any white ink build-up inside the ink lines and also helps keeps the print heads running like new. There are also the standard maintenance when you change out the wiper to clean the caps and the bottom of the print heads. That is about it.
The big thing is that this machine like to be used. When our sits for more than a weekend you usually have to do a cap cleaning, nozzle checks.... the whole bit. Best to run the thing 5 or 6 days a week if you can.

What if the printer is not used for several days ? weekend ....
I'm not an owner either just have done the maintenance quite a few times. Only other real maintenance is the cap/wiper cleaning which is done 1/2 way through white 1 and 1/2 way through black and again at the end of these inks. On the GT-541 this cleaning is done 1/2 way through the 500ml cartridges and once at the end of the 250ml black ink. The machine prompts you.
