Re: Printing Oversized T-Shirt Designs Brilliant Dave!!! Your work has been an inspiration to me in trying to create new things to adapt to my Brother machine - your a very inventive man! it's just a shame your based in the USA for me, otherwise I'd be right down your way to purchase platens and get further advise.
Anyway, I'm trying to make my own platen at the moment, but I'm wondering how you went about setting up the artwork on the computer do do the prints. Your videos don't show that part. Would you be kind enough to advise me on that? or is this something you rather not let on? I would really love to know if possible...
I use Adobe Illustrator to set up my artwork for print. I assume you use the standard size platen layout 14" x 16" when arranging the artwork initially, then you place the artwork in that area and the part which over laps, you cut, copy and paste in a separate artwork file in the same platen area. When you print the first section you print it feeding the garment as normal, but for the second section when you turn the platen around, you print that in the opposite direction? if this is correct how do you link the two sections of artwork so that they meet dead on? If this is not how you go about it, my apologies - but if you can explain that would be so great.
