PLEASE HELP.... How do I print directly to tile, I need to print trophies & pictures and have never done it before HELP.... Where do I get the tiles? & the little wooden stands? Please help all commits greatly appreciated.
Thanks Denise
I've printed on many things but never a tile.By tile do you mean a tile like on the floor or on a backsplash in the bathroom?I may be wrong but if the tile is not pourus I don,t think it will work because the ink needs to sink in to the object. If your talking about stone soaker coasters they print great and you can buy them from direct2shirt.

Tiles can be printed via dye-sublimation, however, you can not use any tile, there have been tiles developed with a sublimation coating. I'm not in the states, but here is a link to a shop that stocks the tiles: Sublimation Tiles
True you can print special coated tiles with sublimation process BUT I do not think any DTG uses sublimation ink. Most of us use Epsons or the Ricoh that have recently come out for sublimation and chromablast. Some use laser printers with sublimation toners
Pro World has a paper called One Step Select that I use in my color laser printer to print on
mugs & it works great, it may works on tiles but I don't know. If I were you I would contact
them at 800-678-8289 or www.proworldinc.com
The Brother GT541 is a DTG printer - which stands for "direct to garment". By extension, that also may apply to other fabric items, but there is one important thing to remember here - ALL DTG ink is designed for fabrics, mostly cotton fabrics at that. Direct printing on other substrates, such as tiles, will require a different ink and most likely a different printer that uses solvent based inks (Brother isn't one). Most tiles such as this are done with sublimation, which is not a direct print - it is printed indirectly, in that you print to a special paper using sublimation ink and then use a heat press to transfer the image to the tile. And just any tile won't do; they have to be coated with a polymer coating, because sublimation only works on polyester or poly coated goods that will withstand a heatpress and pressure.
FYI, found some un finished titles in several sizes from a copy called Direct 2 Garment, and they work and look great. and once heat pressed, they do not wash off or anything, and if you want to spray a shine on them after cool, that works great too. So in my exploring, I have found that the brothers GT 541 press om a lot more than just cloth wonderfully, you just have to look and try.
