syringe ink harmful to print heads? I read a few months ago about using a syringe to suck the leftover ink out of the cartridges in order to use all that extra ink. I didn't try it for awhile, but one day I really needed to finish an order but was out of black ink, so I used the syringe technique and it worked and I finished the order. Not to long after that though, my black started streaking and I couldn't get a consistent print, even after putting a brand new cartridge in. The tech support guy couldn't figure anything out, so I got a new print head.
Last week I was in the same situation but with yellow ink. I used a syringe to suck out ink, and it worked great. Now I just got a new yellow cartridge, and it's not printing right even with a full cartridge. I've manually cleaned everything, and I even ran two initial cleans, along with many powerful head cleanings. Nothing's fixed it.
Is there a chance that using a syringe on the cartridge is accidentally making the hole a little too big so a tiny bit of air can get in? And if so, will air in the line cause the print head to break?
I've run a few initial cleanings and watched a few small air bubbles be pushed out of the line, so I know there's no more air, and I've got a fresh cartridge in. Anyone have this problem? |
