| | Hallo! I live in the middle of nowhere, in a place called Wendover. The town is 120 miles west from Salt Lake City (SLC), 120 miles East of Elko, Nevada (which also has a WalMart). The problem with living in the middle of nowhere is you have to do a little bit of everything to survive.
I have a Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems, however since I graduated in 2002, this got me little work. By circumstance I ended up in the middle of nowhere, and even though I've left a few times, I keep coming back! I work on electronics, computers, and of course make t-shirts, signage, and a few other odds and ends in addition to running a gift shop. | Posted October 31st, 2008 at 11:13 AM by joeshaul Updated October 31st, 2008 at 12:08 PM by joeshaul Well, my main graphics computer has been groaning for a few months now... literally. As soon as it first started doing it I pinpointed one of the fans in the power supply. The bearings are going out which makes the fan harder to spin, it also generates a little vibration as well as a death groan. Normally my shop is quite cold and the fan still spins so it overheating hasn't been an issue. Well, yesterday it crashed twice on me. The first time I shrugged it off, I leave my computers on 24/7... | T-Shirt Lover | | Comments 0
| | Posted October 16th, 2008 at 01:03 PM by joeshaul Well, I've fought it for long enough. I didn't really care for all the hype behind myspace, but I've finally started an account and a page there. I was surprised at how craptastic the designs and configuration were. I figured since everyone (except me) had a MySpace account, it would be quite user friendly. Maybe I'm just growing old! Unsure if I should dual post my blogs or what, since I like the info being available on all mediums. | T-Shirt Lover | | Comments 2

Well, it's not quite that bad. Past few weeks it has been acting strange, you flip it on and it takes a minute before the LED's and such kick on. Sometimes you have to play with it, shut it off, then back on, wait a minute, then try again.
Today I decided to finally take it apart though. I left it sit for thirty minutes, played with it for about 5 more minutes,... | T-Shirt Lover | | Comments 2
| | Posted September 1st, 2008 at 03:34 PM by joeshaul Well, my mother and I went to Elko to do the Elko County Fair. It turned out to be quite a disaster, we didn't do well in sales, and a lot of our items and equipment took some damage. The fair is designed around the 4H, rodeo, horse races, and etc. If you had a vendor tent selling drinks, you had the product that sold itself. Unfortunately we were selling t-shirts and a few other things. The wind picked up really bad on Sunday and tried to blow our tent away with us in it, so we called it an... | T-Shirt Lover | | Comments 3
| | Posted August 24th, 2008 at 08:49 PM by joeshaul Updated August 24th, 2008 at 09:03 PM by joeshaul (Forgot to include thingamajigger's URL!) We close our shop for Sunday, simply because it's a fairly slow day shopwise, and we don't really have the business to merit being open 24/7. I like it because I know for a fact the public won't come walking through the door, so I can play music and work on things.
So, today, I decided to work on this big banner the local movie theater wanted. They wanted an 6'x10' banner basically to cover up their existing enclosure. I'm unsure how well it's going to work out, but took... | T-Shirt Lover | | Comments 0
