[Flexi-Jet Model L] How Do I cancel a POWER CLEAN??
I have accidentally hit the power clean button and want to cancel the request. How do I do so? I have tried turning th printer off and leaving it off for several minutes but when I power back on, it wants to continue the clean. Thanks!
The power clean will generally continue if it has been interrupted, which can turn out to be a bad thing. If the waste tank gets full and it interprets this as an interruption it can even start over. I had a print head delaminate one time when a part that holds the end of the flex rod broke (it turns out it had been broken and then superglued together before I received my printer). The printer interpreted this as an interruption and powercleaned over and over again until it ruined the print head. Part was replaced, new print head, and worked fine. Lucky for me I had just been flushing out the printer so at least I didn't lose ink also.
I just saw this similar thread on the Yahoo forum for the Epson 4000.
I replied the same as you guys, but another person has had success.
This is his post
"When your panel says "Perform Power Cleaning"
Push the left arrow button again and again until it says "Ready".
Try it out, it works for me all the time."
I have not tried this, so if someone gets into the same problem, maybe they can try it and report back???
Not sure you may be able to do half a power clean and cancel, this would make it more economic when a major block occurs or you need to flush through some fresh ink!
Yes, I did think, "Is that right" when I saw it, but this was the persons reply to the exact same question you just hightlighted!!!
I have not tried this as I have not been in this position yet! As I managed to actually say no when it requests it!
