Default Maintenance Reminder

The following is a list of maintenance procedures that should be followed for everyones daily maintenance:

CPS should be placed in the capping station everynight. Whether you are printing Dual CMYK or CMYK/White.

Make sure your levers are lifted and the machine is left On so that the capping station does not break the seal with the head which can cause the print head to clog.

Be sure that your wiper blade is cleaned thoroughly. We are finding that some customers are having to make this step part of their daily maintenance. This will of course will depend on the amount of printing you do but should be performed no less than once a week. You can use cleaning solution (preferably) or distilled water. Other chemicals are not advised as they may damage or soften the wiper blade which is manufactured at a particular durometer or hardness.

When you clean the wiper blade you should make sure there is no dried ink on it as it will appear to be the surface of the blade. Using your finger nail is the best solution to remove the ink.

When first starting for the day you will want to make sure you fist do a Simple Clean. If you are printing with White then you will need to make sure you shake your white cartridges. You will need to make sure that the ink has not seperated in the lines. If separation has occurred than a power clean is necessary as it is will agitate the white in the lines and dampers properly while also removing any air in the system.

If seperation is still apparent or you do not want to use the rquired ink for the Power Cleaning than another procedure is to unscrew the lines where they come into the L-joints. Use a clean syringe with rubber tubing to pull the ink through the lines and perform a KK2 cleaning which will remove any seperated ink in the lines and print head. Be sure that when you retighten the lines that you use a wrench to ensure the nuts are tight and no air is pulled into the system. Also make sure you do not lose the black o-rings inside the nut.

If you have any questions about anything in this post please post your questions here.

Thank you and have a wonderful holiday.
