Question Anyone every heat set water based prints with an elna press?

Hi, just wondering if anyone has every heat set with an elna press or similar domestic ironing press. I currently use a domestic hand held iron to heat set.

I was considering get a heat press but thought I could heat set at least 3 prints at the one time if I did it with an ironing press as it is a bit larger and also a bit cheaper to purchase.

Any advice would be wonderful.

Thanks

Hi Doki. When we first started out in the screen printing business we set all our shirts with an elna press (water base prints) before buying a conveyor oven. We let the prints air dry or used a hair dryer then press for about 20 sec on cotton setting. It would be advisable to do wash tests to work out your press times. Hope this helps.

Brent I forgot to ask, when you pressed the print did you put anything over the top to prevent scorching of the material like a sheet of teflon. What do you recommend?

Thanks alot for your help!

Yes we did use a teflon sheet to protect the shirt and the plate.
