There are many advantages and disadvantages when it comes to overseas manufacturing. You are sending work outside your local economy, you could waste time and money by working with an unreliable manufacturer. On the up side you get to be 100% creative and have no limitations to the type of t-shirt you want to manufacture. You have the resources to use any fabric like organics, bamboo, hemp, corn, etc. By using something like these fabrics you have the opportunity to be more eco-friendly, rather than using a pesticide filled standard cotton t-shirt. You can do all the highest quality printing and labeling all at one spot. The cost per piece will also be much lower.
Really what it all comes down to is finding a manufacturer that will be honest and has good communication skills. Most factories will say yes to anything, even if they have no clue. If you can connect with a factory and have a good understanding then overseas manufacturing can have great rewards.
