Default Free Trial Design Software

Hello fellow Aussies!

I'm situated in Melbourne, and am wanting to establish a design business with a couple mates..

As i am a beginner, I am wandering what design software I should start off with (ie. best, low cost), and whether there is any decent software I can trial before paying for it??

I appreciate any help!! Thanks

If you are going into screenprinting, most definitely a Vector design software, the two post popular being Adobe Illustrator and Corel

However, if you do full process, digital printing then Adobe Photoshop.

What I dont understand is that you want to start a design business but dont have experience or knowledge regarding design software?

Hello,

If you want to do illustration then Illustrator is teh way to go. I am finding people in this industry use Corel compared to web designers who use Illustrator.

Photoshop is an image editing program which you can create high dpi images.

I have been used Photoshop 6.0 for years and don't plan on updating.

A cheap way out of it for you is to look for the program you need in ebay.

Version 6.0 of Photoshop is plenty.

Hope this helps.

Joe

hello,

try the corel drawx4 free trial, adobe photoshop, illustrator free trial from their websites. if your serious about your business you should purchase both of these if possible. if you are serious about design these are your tools. other wise try freeware - gimp, inkscape, serif draw + pageplus, xara etc... most of these can be found often with compuer magazine dvd's.

best of luck
