From what i gathered from the above website it is a must to have tags--
permanently attached to articles
written in English
legible
appropriate and adequate for the care of the article and
accessible to the consumer at point-of-sale.
Adequate care instructions must include information on the general care and warnings, including washing, drying*, ironing* and dry-cleaning instructions.
as you can see the label may fit into one of the below segments been an apparel it would fit into section 1!
Care Instructions
Tables 1, 2 and 3 of AS/NZS 1957:1998 contain instructions to be used on the care label. Each Table contains care instructions specific to a particular article classification.
Table 2. Upholstered furniture (including leather), bedding and other furnishings.
Table 3. Leather and fur apparel (including sheep skin).
So from the above info i gather the t-shirt should have relevant washing and care instruction and it basically as simple as that....or is it more complex?
Maybe users of the forum can post pictures of there tags to show the difference between one shirts tag to another shirts tag...

What info must they say on the neck label??
I asked the same question and was told by a supplier, by law the care instructions must be shown and also the place where the garment was made in.
Also what is the best way of doing this?
I was thinking of screen printing the instructions on the back (inside of shirt) below where the tag usually is. Or even heat pressing it on. Btut I reckon screen printing it will be far easier and inexpensive.
Did you read the links posted above in the thread?
I more meant relable, because i bought the shirts does that give me the right to take out the lable (as in the companies lable, ie alternative or continental) & put my own in? i understand the washing instructions, made in, thread count ect.

Yes, you are able to do that (relabel continental with your own brand). That's what they are made for
I just thought I would add. Many TAFE and Uni's have access to Standards Australia and if your a current enrolled student you can generally get access to the SA database. Well, at least thats what I do through Swinburne!
