Re: Is Continental Clothing available in Australia?
Thanks Rodney - I have contacted them but they ar being a little tardy with their reply! I know they have a number of international offices but nothing in Australia.
Re: Is Continental Clothing available in Australia?
Hi Minnie, I haven't been on here for a while so missed your post.
I work for Continental Clothing in Europe, specifically Germany and Ireland but handle most of the business we do with our distributers. I can help you out in regard to Australia as at the moment I'm shipping to New Zealand for a number of clients who I have picked up as I grew up there.
If you can email me back your contact details I can forward on price lists and shipping costs.
Re: Is Continental Clothing available in Australia?
Hi, we use Continental through their USA offices, their stuff is great though we get murderd on the shipping around 100% on top of the sale price at the moment, But yeah they are just about worth it, great little touch their not being a tag in the neck,
Re: Is Continental Clothing available in Australia?
Thanks for your info. I have spoken to the guys in the US and I just couldn't justify it with the shipping costs - way too much. I have also been in touch with a guy in Ireland and I think it looked cheaper (definately cheaper for a shippment of samples). However they are still more than the current stock I use (Bella Baby). Just wish all this shipping was not so much. If only then could ship direct from China where most of its made!
Re: Is Continental Clothing available in Australia?
There's a Continental distributor in Japan... I don't know their details though, but still works out way expensive per shirt (a friend of mine got a quote from them a while back)... we just recently made some shirts for a UK client in Australia and they were very happy with the quality and cut of Identitee T-shirts as a substitute for Continentals...

It worked out about $8-9 a tee before 100 odd and about $6-7 tee after a 100 odd, so about the same if not better as any fashion tee in Australia with the added bonus of not having to remove tags,
Re: Is Continental Clothing available in Australia?
Thanks you both for your recent comments regarding Continental clothing. It still makes it a little too pricey for me given my costs for the design work is higher than say some printed designs (I applique and use high quality fabrics). I need quality base garments but need to keep it under 6.00 including shipping. I find that a lot of children's base garments are just poor quality or strange sizes. I sell into AUS and the US and need a garment that is going to last - sales on Etsy would soon end if I was using a poor quality garments. So although I am happy with my current supplier, my search for good long sleeved tee-shirts will continue...
Re: Is Continental Clothing available in Australia?
Hey there Minnie, did you ever end up hearing back from Continental?
I'm in the same situation, trying to get some bamboo to Australia, seems to be a tad tricky.
I've contacted them too but haven't heard back.
Re: Is Continental Clothing available in Australia?
Just a thought, i have a us mail box with a company over there, for my $15 a month subscription they give me a postal address and ship on demand via DHL for half the going rate. They also let me consolidate my packages and send them over in one big lot to save me money. Anyway, the point is, it works out pretty okay as far as postage goes, and if you pm me i can give you the company name.
Alot of people in Oz seem to be having this problem, I've been thinking I should co-ordinate once a month shipment or something.
Re: Is Continental Clothing available in Australia?
Hi there Vicks and Samborine,
I have heard from both the US and Irish Continental Clothing offices and although the garments are a good price, the shipping is nuts. Ireland was cheeper (see above for the details of the Irish contact).
Would love to get an idea of what shipping is per garment (roughly) from you Samborine.
