Hey welcome to the forums!

Based on my limited knowledge:

Graficad Creation Inc. (in Buendia) sells branded China-made, 18k.

Printech (IT Center Gilmore) sells China-made, 11k+, not sure on exact price.

Tee Studio (3rd flr north mall, lrt monumento), they have 11k and 14k, I am not sure but I assume these are China-made.

FUM International (Sta. Mesa), Hix Brand, US-made, 64k. Yup, sixty four thousand. Well, its US.

I heard Sir Byron on VC Trading (Farmers Cubao) will have Geo-Knight US brand and I guess will go for a US brand price.

Better go see these machines to judge for yourself.

Good luck!

I use a hotronix clamshell press. 16x16. Love it. There are two main reasons I like this press. ONe the digital pressure feature and the automatic open feature. When I first got into heat pressing it was nice to have something that let me know I had the correct pressure. Other wise your prints may fall off in the wash. I had a hix first very nice nothing wrong but I had no knowledge of what minimul pressure or firm and in between. Had problems with images peeling off.

Good list Nelson. We started with graficads's 16x16 china press (it's OK) but later shifted to a Hix Auto Open. We added a manual Mighty Press and two more Geo Knight presses. All our presses now are 16x20 and I would really recommend that size for those getting into the business. The US presses are really much better than the China presses, IMHO.

Sir aero, we're not selling anything anymore, 'coz our landed cost was too high when we tried to import. Anyway, for a 16x20 US made press, the prices range from 60 to 90T.

I heard the warranty given by the resellers usually ranges from a week to up to 3 months. Can't really blame them 'coz usually, their suppliers from China don't replace defective presses.

Thanks! For example, I want to start small in this business. Like if I have 20k. What do you think I should spend on? And what brands?

Get a good brand like Hotronix if you can afford it, else a Digital Version Mighty Press or Maxx.

It will keep on running for our business without much maintence and break down.

Other brands from Europe and US are also worth considering as they are much better build and most comes with lifetime warranty on the heating element.
