I will be visiting SE Asia in the month of August, spending three weeks in Java and one in Bali. I own a screenprinting operation in the U.S. and am curious to compare technologies, processes and markets abroad. I would like to arrange a visit to a few facilities.
My long term interest are to establish / join an operation in SE Asia to produce for the U.S. promotional products market.

My qs for T-shirt expert in Indonesia is, do you guys use waterbased ink? and do you also use specialty inks, like glitter or gold, silver, puff or anything else?
What is combat? is it kind of cotton?
Do you have bamboo or organic t-shirt supplier in Indonesia?

We use screen print so the ink is bought from chemical store. For gold and silver color usually we use alumunium foil. In Indonesia commonly we call it foil technique. But there is also ink for those color. It depends on the design.

Yes, combat is kind of cotton. There are Combat 20s, 30s, etc. For organic t-shirt supplier i still don't know. I will lok for the information about it.
If you will come back to Indonesia maybe we can meet and share more. I live in Jakarta but my t-shirt produce in Bandung. I also produce tie dye t-shirt.

I don't exactly where the cotton come from. But i think Indonesia also produce good cotton. A lot of garment factory produce combat material in Bandung. Except for fleece material that usually use on sweatshirt, i think it comes from taiwan. Because we usually call it taiwan fleece. Some of fleece material also produce in Bandung. I have friend that sell it.
