I strongly suggest that you stick with US transfer papers. It's just a bit more pricey than China transfer papers but quality is definitely better (waaaay better). When I started out, I was of course given China transfer papers as freebies when I bought my heat press. I was very amazed with the initial results until I washed the shirts. The transferred design would either fade or crack or peel (or all of the above)! I then decided to try US transfer papers:
JPSS for light transfers, and Blue Grid for darks. Quality is excellent. If you can source IYA Dark here in Manila, I strongly suggest that you use that for dark transfers. It's got a better "hand" than Blur Grid, plus it has a stretch quality to it. I am not aware of anyone here in Manila that sells IYA Dark, so I order mine from the US.
It's trial and error and a ton of research when you're just starting, but feel free to post your questions here at the forums - it helps minimize wasted time, effort, and transfer paper!
