Some of you may have already noticed some of the new forum features that I snuck in last week
Here's the quick breakdown:1. Social Bookmarking Added or "oh, how web 2.0 of you
"
For those of you already familiar with the social bookmarking services like digg, del.icio.us, technorati, etc, you now have the ability to bookmark or "digg" an individual post or an entire thread.
For those of you that may be new to the whole social bookmarking thing (like me), I find that
this snippet from wikipedia explains it pretty well:

Digg is a social news site and del.icio.us is a social bookmarking site. Both allow you to share stories or articles that you find interesting with other people (or store them in your own personal bookmark lists on those sites). To make the process easier, you can use the links in the threads/posts to submit an article you think would be interesting to users of those sites.
Basically, if you find a post or thread that is truly Outstanding, Super Helpful or
Remarkable that you want to remember and even share with others, you can now do it with a bit more ease through the use of these tools.
If you want to bookmark/share just the one post, you would click on the appropriate icon right under the post. Here's a quick screenshot to show you where the icons are:
If you want to bookmark/share the whole amazing thread, you would use the Linkback menu at the top of the thread and choose the bookmarking service that you want to post the thread to:
Submitting to Digg
To submit articles to
Digg, you need to register for an account which you can do for free
here.
Click the "Submit to Digg" link and the web address for the story will be automatically filled in for you. All you need to do is choose a suitable title, write a brief description and choose a category.
Once the article has been added it will be available to other users to 'Digg' if they like it - the more Diggs an item gets, the more prominently it appears on the Digg homepage.
Submitting to Delicious
To add an article to
Delicious, you need to register for a free account
here first.
Click the "Submit to Delicious" link and the web address, description and notes fields will be filled out for you, but you can change the description and notes to something more relevant if you wish.
The next step is to add tags that relate to the story - you can add any tags you want. The aim of tagging is to enable other users to find relevant sites. So, if the story was about Screen Printing Hoodies, you might tag it with "screenprinting hoodies fashion". When other users browse for items tagged with hoodies, then the article you submitted will show up.
Bottom line is, if you have no interest in that kind of stuff, you can safely just ignore this new feature
