don't know why but my anajet is adding a red hue to my files
I did not add red at all and this seems like some new trick the system is playing on me
5 moor bad shirts and ink down the drain
what could this be
it happens at all ink levels and set to light med no matter?
The way blacks and greys print, your printer will use all colors. It's not wicking.. is that right? How's the distance from the head to the shirt? Is the artwork something you created? It seems to be left to right... try unidirectional to see if it changes. It does seem to be only on the magenta channel, when you do a nozzel check does it happen there... only on magenta? Look at the bottom of your head, do you see anything?

ok I made the file over, I used cmyk, set the type to 100%K. wow this is a strange thing. did the line perge and it is only the magenta, zoom your good. granted I have not been printing very much, but I was getting good print head checks. I clean the bottom of the head and it just keeps coming up with some black grunge. after some big time head cleans I did get a ok print. but still see it a bit?

man~
just shoot me now
Ken,
if you look at the face of the head does it look clean, no scratches? How about the wiper on the cap station(no rubbery goo)? On the nozzle check, do you notice the misting, or is it crisp on the printout?
I don't think the file would do this, but you say CMYK, are you doing this in Corel, photoshop or what? You understand that you need to be using an RGB profile, right?
You didn't say... did you check the platten highth? and make sure the platen is level?

My problem is magenta in the yellow. Just did an ink charge and head cleaning and after the head cleaning it got worse. Now its time for a manual cleaning and this whole process over again. All this to print one shirt! What a waste of time and ink!!!!!
Thanks analjet

This happens every now and then. It's just a dirty head, and probably a dirty wiper blade.
Take the 20 minutes or so and clean everything; head, wiper blade, capping station, wiper foam. Finish with a head clean and you should be good.
I understand your frustration, but it's really not Anajet's fault.
I took the 20 minutes, I took an hour actually. It stayed clean for about an hour then right back to magenta streaks in the yellow. I just paid couple hundred bucks to ship back my old one and get this refurbished one and the same crap is happening. At least my white hasnt dried up in the lines yet.

You say magenta in the yellow.... are you printing a yellow gold, and the magenta is banding, or if you do a purge by channel, you have magenta in the yellow channel? If you actually are getting ink from one channel to another, then I would suspect that you capping station is not evacuating completely. The capping station has two sides, one for CMYK, the other for white. if you have a pool of ink in the capping area, you could get a little cross contamination.

I am printing yellow and gold with magenta always present in the first couple of passes. I have been doing yellow purges with magenta in it every time. I have even come up with a full page yellow gradient I use to purge it. Same thing, magenta the first couple lines then yellow cleans up till the next print. I dont see any pools of ink but I will have to check again tomorrow.

The Lines are pure yellow. It is picking up the magenta on the head somehow and the first couple passes are tainted with magenta then while printing yellow. It goes away then after about an inch of printing. Next print it is right back again. My last machine was doing this, now this week old refurbished machine is doing the same thing.

Have you taken apart your head assembly and looked at your yellow damper? Also, have you looked at the face of the head. You'll have to get a mirror and a flashlight to see it well. It should be totally clean and have a tan look to it. You'll be able to see all the nozzles.
Hi Ken,
We sell AnaJet in the UK. We had this problem here and resolved it by cleaning the encoder strip. This is the clear plastic strip that runs across the machine (left to right) in line with the printhead.
We have found WD-40 brilliant for this purpose. Be sure to clean the whole length of the strip, and both front and back.
Good luck
Rob
