What does your nozzle pattern look like? Are you printing in text, vivid, photo, etc.? What level of ink are you using?

Once we know your settings, we can help a little better.

Are you using a CMYK black or just straight K?
If K only, add some C,M,Y in, like 40% each. That should make it blacker and fill in the banding.

sounds like a printhead clog
do the nozzle pattern test
check that you dont have a clog
use vivid

Are you printing in bidirectional or unidirectional mode?

Bidirectional mode is 2x as fast, but shows the lines you're referring to more easily.

Seeing those lines in your image is called banding. It might be caused by a nozzle clog or misaligned print nozzles.

There would be a couple of things i would suspect.Humidity could be a factor. Check your Hygrometer (don't have? get one). This time of year, at least in my part of the county, humidity is a constant battle. I keep mine at around 40%. If you are at a higher elevation you need to keep it higher than that. If this is not the issue and you progressivly get worse during one session, you could have a starvation problem. Make sure you have a fairly full cartrige. Sometime I'll get a little starvation at the end (when the weight is below 100g). If your cart is full and a head clean or purge doesn't keep things open, check dampers. You can remove, clean them out using distiled water. Flush both ways untill the screens are clear and re-install. If your machine sits alot, you may wish to do this with all your channels.
